Maureen Auman

Maureen Auman, the author of Step Up to Writing, has provided staff development for elementary, middle, high school, and parent/family groups since 1987. She began her journey as a classroom teacher, which inspired the creation of Step Up to Writing to help her nervous eighth-grade students prepare for writing on state assessments. She has taught the Step Up to Writing strategies in graduate level courses since 1989, helping educators implement practical strategies to make their students more effective writers. As a consultant, she has worked with teachers and administrators in Colorado and throughout the country.
